  • St. James' Day - Saint James the Apostle was one of Christ's disciples.  He was brother to Saint John and son of Zebedee.  He witnessed the Transfiguration of Our Lord, as well as His agony in the Garden of Gethsemane.  He was the first disciple to be martyred; King Herod Agrippa ordered him beheaded in 44 A.D.  Now he is patron of furriers, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Spain, veterinarians and against arthritis.
