1. A Spa Day is not a Bridal Shower or Bachelorette Party!
|
Leave the silly, noisy games and exotic dancers behind when you come to the spa. This is a day for quiet
reflection and total pampering. Ask the spa to arrange lunch for you and your guests so all you have to do is show up, slip into a robe and relax. |
2. Plan Ahead
|
The larger your group, the more advanced notice you will need to ensure that everyone one is able to get the
treatments they want at the same time. Remember, weekends are usually busiest, so if you can plan your event mid week and during the evening you may even
have the whole place to yourselves! |
3. Find the Right Spa
|
Interview spas to find one that is large enough to handle your party and small enough to feel intimate. Make sure
that they have robes, sandals, lockers, steam room, sauna, whirlpool & swimming pool so everyone will have something to do between their treatments.
The right spa will have enough therapists to handle all of your massages, facials and body treatments simultaneously. |
4. Let Your Coordinator Take Care of the Details
|
Discuss your plans with the spa coordinator so they know what time you would like to have your event and which
services you will be providing for your guests. Provide a spa menu for each of your guests or have them visit the spa’s website so they know exactly
which services they want before they call the spa coordinator to book their appointments. |
5. Timing is Everything
|
Some brides choose a spa evening in lieu of a bachelorette party, while others plan their spa event for the
morning after “the big night out” to help recover from it. Understanding your expectations for your spa day and communicating them to your
guests and spa coordinator will help ensure the perfect event. |
6. Don't forget the Boys
|
If you are able to find a spa that has co-ed facilities, a joint spa day can be a great way for the bridesmaids,
groomsmen and parents to get to know one another in a relaxed atmosphere, helping to make the wedding day much more enjoyable! |
7. Ask for Special Package Rates
|
Many spas offer special package pricing if each of your guests gets a number of treatments. Some will even give
group discounts or other incentives like including food for large groups. |
8. Put Your Best Face Forward
|
A trained esthetician can help you choose the facial that is best for you. If you are trying to correct a
condition like acne, you should start on a program well before the Big Day. If your spa day is just before your wedding, you should avoid any treatments
that could cause redness. A facial that infuses your skin with vitamins, minerals and oxygen will help to build collagen and give your face a smooth lift
for a day or two. |
9. Get a Grip on Your Nails
|
Include a manicure or pedicure in your spa package and make sure everyone’s hands are ready for those bouquet
close-up photos. As an added benefit, the nail salon is the one room at the spa where you and your guests can get pampered at the same time and visiting
is encouraged! |
10. Make it a Day to Remember
|
If your guests are paying for their own services you may want to give them a souvenir to take with them like a
robe with the spa’s monogram, a CD of the spa music, a spa candle or a gift certificate for a future visit. Ask the spa if they can help you create a
special spa gift for your guests. No matter what type of spa day you plan, the important thing to remember is that you have nothing to worry about inside
the spa walls. Let the soothing music, serene spaces and healing hands of the spa therapists help you to refocus on the simple joy of being in love. You
may even decide to add a spa day to your honeymoon itinerary too! |
